PS4 confirmed due to PSN hack?

I know most of the PS network is back up except for the store (heard that was coming soon?) which is, well, how long now?

When Sony said that the PSN would be back up in a week, I know I wasn't the only one who was angry when a week rolled around--then two. Which makes me wonder: is that announcement about PS4 development just a way to appease their costumers?

It would be ridiculous if it was all just a rouse, since the PS3 came out over 5 years ago.

I dunno, this article made me think about it, and now I'm hoping it isn't some lie.
